Angus Lyon
Angus, a farmers son from Lamington South Lanarkshire, started playing the accordion when he was 6, beginning with traditional music them moving on to a classical training. Competing in the N.A.O. Competitions he won six British Championships and numerous regional awards. Then he turned his attentions back to traditional music.
In 1997 he made his debut recording on Hot Toddy's Three Sheets to the Wond album. After working with the former world champions for a year he then started working with folk producers Ross Kennedy and Steve Lawrence. Through this combination Angus became a regular in recording sessions, playing with Chris Armstrong, Kinnel, Tannas, Canterach, John Wright, the Picts and on Ross Kennedy and Archie McAllister;s last album, The White Swan. Along with recording he has also been touring all round the world, from Canada to Uganda and just about everywhere in between.
